Free tool? No wonder music has no dynamic range

We need to download a tool for this?? I thought all we had to do was buy a CD of today's music.

I think it sounds pretty good when then they compress the music like this. That is, so long as I'm listening to it on the shitty sound system in my car. Or the shitty earbuds that came with my iPod. Or the shitty boombox I've got.

Good point, actually. I can't listen to dynamic music (Sade, Knopfler, classical, acoustic jazz) in my car as I can't hear the quiet stuff (okay, I have a noisy car...).

The sound system in my Edge is the best factory system I have heard and better than most after market systems.

There are times I am still amazed at how good it sounds.
