Grimani Systems speakers using Harman research

Anybody heard anything about these speakers following Dr. Floyd O'Tooles research, they are coming out with a stand alone speaker. But for right now it's for home theatre installers, doing a whole room.

The speakers are all active, and they use a CAT5 cable for hookup instead of traditional speaker cable. The system also constantly monitors itself, if something is off it sends email to the company who sends the installer out to fix it. That sounds kinda cool. Supposedly they can play very loud, with a very wide dispersion in the room.

Some highlights, it uses a "Conic Section Array" waveguide, 3 way active digital drive, 123db dynamics, a tungsten-urethane cabinet.

I will have to hear them before I can have an opinion. Their mission statement is exactly what I believe and I respect what they say they are doing. I also like the design principles and technical features very much.

That said, I have heard the B&O speakers using that waveguide technology and while it was VERY interesting, I didn't find it to be true to the source - i.e. it wasn't that accurate sounding. But, that could be a choice in how they tuned their system more than the technology itself.

Emotionally, the engineer's absolute passion about the CSA design is interesting, but he sounds like he feels the need to defend it, which makes me question how it may actually sound. My gut tells me he might be hiding behind specs and measurements. But I could be completely wrong.

I would love to hear these sometime.

I heard the B&O's in NYC once in a home theatre like room, was not impressed at all. Don't remember why, but just didn't score any points with me.
Thanks for the reply Flint.
