Well I don't even own a set of "cans" but I know this. Unfortunately good sound is not always what sells. Look at Bose and Beats by Dr. Dre. It doesn't matter What they sound like. Brand recognition and marketing sell these products.
 
If interested in selling anything, convince, or pay a high profile individual to use that product at an event where they accel.
A excellent example is Michael Phelps wearing the SOL (Soul Republic) brand headphones before competition in the olympics.

Sound quality rates between zero and none when you involve sheeple, which accounts for the vast majority.
