W O W!! We just blew through seasons 1&2 this past week. I can't believe how good this show is. During every episode you can cut the tension with a knife. I'm kind of saddened that we caught up so fast because now were wanting for more but have to wait 'til September to start season 3. Oh well at least we have the final season of Dexter to hold us over.

I admittedly watch little to none of this type of television programming, however at my daughter's urging during the Xmas holidays my wife and I have so far made our way through all of season 1, and part of season 2. Very compelling.

I've been very impressed with Mandy Patinkin's work. I've been incredibly impressed with Claire Danes'. Much less so with Damian Lewis.

The writing has been good to excellent - although I was having credibility issues with a lot of what was happening to Lewis' character. Since the discovery of the suicide recording by Mandy's character, I think they have gotten things back to a much more believable footing. Otherwise I was ready to bail on the series.

Looking forward to getting through the rest of the available episodes.

Without being overly spoilerish....

It's my opinion that season 3 was a significant drop off from the first two. Many great moments but the pace was all over the place. I'm guessing they'll have another season, but the way things were left could've also been a fitting series finale.

Six episodes into Season 4 with #7 airing tonight. The pace of season 1 & 2 is back for the most part. With Brody's arc ending last season (which had drug out far too long by the time it was resolved), it seems the show is back up to the level any fan of the show would hope for.

I don't know to what extent the situations and drama of this show are embellished for television, but if this show is even fractionally representative of the goings on in the Middle East, and how our intelligence deals with it, it's pretty fucking ugly over there.
