Started putting this in the "Concert Video" section, but it deserves its own thread.
Caught maybe the last third of this on Palladia, it's a new documentary coming out on CD/DVD/Bluray next week, and I'm picking it up. I've seen Kansas live 3 times. The first was at Iowa State U, during their heyday, and they smoked! The second time, Steve's vocals were shot (sounded like cocaine-throat) and he was out of the band after that. The third time, they appeared at the "summer concert series" in Layton, a nice little outdoor ampitheater, what's-her-name really wanted to see them so I got us tix. Steve was back in the band, sounded good, and I noticed he took a Lotus yoga position during the entire intermission behind his keyboards, so I guess he's cleaned up his life. Not many original members left.
The documentary interviewed all original members, and some replacements. Fun to see how the band developed and succeeded. (Dust in the Wind, their biggest hit, started out as a Kerry Livgren "finger exercise" that his wife finally convinced him to develop into a song; the whole band knew it was a masterpiece when they heard the tape playback (even though the harmony vox are hideously out of tune on the chorus!).)
Anxious to see the whole thing; recommended! :handgestures-thumbup:
