Karen can rock!

I know, this isn't death-metal, or anything like that; but checkout Karen Carpenter rule that monster Ludwig drum kit!

This was 1971, people, a skinny chick with an angel's voice laying down the Caribbean beats on a huge set of drums! And if you pay attention to the other players, they are all rocking their parts. This was not some saccharin happy-go-lucky ballad.

Suck-it b!tches!

Very nice! I'm not surprised, usually when someone is THAT talented, they're talented at several things.

Here's Karen schooling us on early prog-rock drumming from a 1973 appearance on Johnny Carson.

My GF just got done reading a book on Karen Carpenter and she was filling me in on it.

What a terrible loss. She was obviously an incredibly talented young lady. It is a shame that her self image is what led to her demise. We as humans can be incredibly fragile.

Thanks Flint. Those were wonderful. Brings back some memories.

Memories indeed.............

What a natural talent and "angels voice" is the right description.

RIP - Karen!

Yes! I always appreciate Karen's sweet melodies.

I had a friend that lost her life this past year to Anorexia Nervosa, extremely sad, especially for her loved ones. She had so much to live for, but she never believed in herself enough.
