I'll put a spoiler tag here, just in case someone hasn't seen last weeks episode yet. Question to follow in the next post.

Spoiler ahead.

So what do you guys think of Amy's thoughts that the first Indiana Jones, that Indy was irrelevant to the movie? She has a point. I wonder what George Lucas thought of it.

I cracked the Hell up when Amy was explaining that because it was a very valid point and one I had never thought of.

I thought the same thing as well Matt, and she had a valid point. Whoever thought of that point of view was a genius.

I don't remember, but what was the argument about having it end up in the hands of the US government?

Jacen it was too powerful a weapon and the Government wanted to have it and out of the hands of anyone else.

As was pointed out in the BBT episode... Indy wanted the Ark to be studied but the government suits wanted it put away which is what happened. So again, with or without Indy in the picture the result is the same.

I completely agree with the argument in every way.

However, telling an entertaining story about amazing events does not require the protagonist to create the actions of the plot. Look at War & Peace, it told the story of living in Russia prior to, during, and just after Napoleon's failed attempt to conquer that great nation. None of the characters made any impact to the larger war plot. However, we readers get to enjoy the story of people's lives as they went through that experience. The same is true in Gone With the Wind and probably thousands of other modern stories / movies.

:text-bump:

I missed this episode when it first aired, its on tonight! :banana-rock:

Oh man, I should not have read this thread, we watch BBT a lot!!! We own seasons 1-6. We are not up on the latest season. I think the show is into season eight? Regardless, I will ignore what I read & wait for all to come out on Blu-Ray.

I did receive this awesome 'Penny' hat from Zing @ Christmas! I luv it!
