That's the second "Tanglewood" video you've posted, hope the whole show comes out on video, even though the video/audio quality aren't great. That was only the tail-end of "Ballade for a Girl in Buchanon", would love to see the whole thing.
Seraphine was smokin' there, too! :music-rockout:
Re: Lest we forget, The Darknoss f#^*~ng ROCKS! ;-D
As an 80s kid, I hated 70-era Chicago when I first heard it. It was a far cry from the Peter Cetera dominated soft rock that I was familiar with. And whilst I still like the stuff from Chicago 17, I definitely prefer the 70s stuff better nowadays.
Seeing that band on stage with the brass on almost equal footing with drums and guitars could seemingly only have been cool in the Seventies. The long hair. The bad clothes. The whole vibe generated.
And for some reason watching those videos make me think of the Muppets. Wonder if those two old farts are somewhere in the audience?
1. Kath is amazing, again.
2. Peter's lead vocals are amazing; this was before Autotune or anything digital.
3. Chicago's harmony vox are, also, amazing.
4. Chicago's brass section is tighter than a nun's bum. Stunning!
Posted on my Farcebook this evening. Sadly it doesn't include the "tone clusters" in the horns at the end, that were on the record; but it still smokes!
