Got my new Sound & Vision in the mail today (yeah, I still subscribe to paper) and it had a feature article about NAD's new integrated amplifier. I scanned through the intro, specs, and summary, did not see its power rating anywhere (it may be buried in the article itself). Then I found the price, $5,000. Yikes, that's what my entire speaker system sold for, ten years ago!
I went to Crutchfield's site, and then learned its only a stereo amp! In fact, glancing through all 45 NAD products, they only offer one 9.2 and one 7.1 integrated amps; they're almost all stereo amps.
Is Surround Sound on the way out? I know most music releases are only stereo again, but I thought most movies come out in Surround (including Atmos/etc), is that not the case anymore?
