Neat Little Music Video With Family Connection

Scott Helman is a young up and coming Canadian musician.

The video below is a nice simple example of his music.

There's a few neat things about the video, and him, that I'd like to mention.

First off, I found the cameo performance near the end of the video to be way cool. (Points to anyone who can name who that is, and why he would happen to be in the video at that time at that location. Hint: it was shot and posted last month.)

Secondly, the video was shot by a friend of my daughter in one take.

Thirdly, Scott is currently opening for Matthew Good on the Canadian leg of his tour.

Fourthly, that tour comes to Ottawa this coming Thursday and will be playing at the National Arts Centre (a great concert music / concert venue).

Fifthly, that friend of my daughter is working on the tour and has secured backstage passes for my daughter and I to attend.

And lastly, that friend and Scott will be staying at my daughter's place when they are in town.

ps. I've also linked to the official video of that same song.

I'm pretty sure that's "epic beard man" from that one video of a quintet who did an a capella version of that hit song from the band that Batman likes so much; you know the one? I didn't know he played accordion. He's probably in Paris for that one wine festival thingie.

And, more seriously, I've played a concert in that very location, the end of the Ultimate High School Band Trip! :banana-dance:

HAH! You guys think I'm on drugs or something, but it came to me!

It IS Epic Beard Man, here playing a headstock!

What do I win? :banana-dance: :banana-dance: :banana-dance:

And, finally, to prove I'm a fallible human, I was wrong.

It wasn't a capella, they were accompanied by guitar.

You're a music trivia genius! Prize to be awarded at the next GTG during a ceremony of my design. (Where, o where, have we heard that phrase before?!)

Scott was the opening act on the European leg of Walk Off The Earth's current tour - hence the cameo was no coincidence.

Jeff

ps. They do an even more impressive cover of Somebody That I Used to Know during their concerts. Here's Scott and Walk Off The Earth together in a nifty collaboration featuring four performers on one "instrument" that my daughter showed me earlier today.

Are you kidding me?!?

That was just a wild-ass guess!

Running out of time this morning, want to check out the instrument they're playing in that last video.
