Apologies if this was already posted, but if not...

Looks to have a release date of April 1st. There are two new tracks already available on iTunes. Must admit this comes as a pleasant surprise.

Yup, I've preordered it. Yeah, I've been following Thile's work since his early Nickel Creek days, I too am surprised - and pleased - that they've gotten back together. I have all their past albums.

I hope Sean has a fair number of compositions on the new album. I've always enjoyed his music and have occasionally looked for a new solo album, but it seems he has been favoring group projects, which have been good; so no real complaints.

Just now thought to see if Nickel Creek is touring my area. Unfortunately, ticketmaster only seems to have single seats left in minneapolis.

They have multiples available being resold on stubhub. Starting at a little over 80 bucks. So maybe a little markup? I dunno. Not sure I trust stubhub.

No reason not to trust StubHub. They do have their fees plus people may put their tickets up for more than face value so you need to do a little research to make sure they're not totally out of line. StubHub recently made a change where the price you see is the actual price per ticket - all fees are included. Just don't make the same mistake a friend of mine did; she wanted four tickets and thought the displayed price was the total for all four, but it's the price for each. So if anybody is interested in a single, over-priced ticket to the Cher concert in KC, let me know...

I listened to Dotted Line yesterday, but frankly, I didn't like it all that much. It was a little too pop rather than bluegrass for my taste. I'll give it another try though, as I respect these guys' musicianship enough to make some attempt to understand what they're trying to do.

This^^^

I got yesterday listened on headphones and was just ho hum on it. I wanted the Bluegrass sound I kept waiting for it with each song. It never came. Its not chicken feed but wasn't really what I had hoped for.

Thanks for the info on stubhub. We'll see.

As for the new album, I haven't heard it yet. I stopped by the only record store near me this afternoon, but they didn't have it. No best buys have it either. Looks like I'll order online. BB has some 5 buck CDs that I can order to go along with it.
