Setup the new Oppo yesterday. I love how they package their products in a nice tote bag style cover.

A bit more to learn than the 83. The whole network thing. Had to do audio calibration because I'm using the 5.1 analog connections. Watched Rise of Planet of the Apes, very nice.

Awesome. I hope to get one in the near future.

Can you tell a difference (audio)?

I'll have to give it more time to view/listen with material I am familiar with. Will spend most of the day today playing with it.

Does it have bass management on the analog outs? If so, is it flexible, or a fixed setting?

Nevermind Mz. Looked at the manual and it appears to have quite flexible bass management.

Cool. It'll be good to use for all audio needs.

Along with choosing speaker size that will direct bass to "large" speakers, you can set crossover with 10 different settings 40Hz to 250hz.

mzpro remember there is a firmware update for it

Wouldn't a brand new unit come with the firmware update already completed?

Not necessarily, many units are manufactured while the firmware people are doing there homework, and fixing reported bugs. Meanwhile, production continues with the old firmware being loaded, since the latest firmware is rolling out. The inventoried items, which were manufacture some months ago, have the old firmware version installed, and it's up to the user to update his/her product to the latest version.

Thanks . I have a wireless connection on it and when I turned it on tonight it gave me the message and I downloaded it.

I watched several movies yesterday and first impression is this is a kick ass player. The picture from this thing is amazing and I have to admit I wasn't really prepared for how good it would be. I mean we say digital is digital but the video processing from the 93 is amazing. At times the picture just seems to pop out at you.

It took some tweaking but the sound stage is also definitely better than the BDP-83. I haven't tried any SACD discs yet but with films it is great.

I am not so impressed with it's streaming capabilities, slow and not always very responsive. I will definitely continue to use the Roku for streaming.

After a day and a half I will say it is a nice worthwhile upgrade.
