One of my favorite British TV dark comedies, Peep Show, is being adapted to a US show for Starz. On the one hand, I cannot wait to see more of that style of humor now that the British show has finished. On the other hand, most of these subtle and decidedly uncomfortably funny British shows fail miserably when attempted as an American show. Think about Coupling, IT Crowd, Faulty Towers, and others as examples of failure. The Office is one rare exception of a British show doing well is recreated in the US for the US audience.
The brain behind the US version is the same guy who brought us "Wilfred", so there is hope.
We'll see.
