Operation temperature of receivers (and possible HTPC)

So I put all of the gear for my down stairs system in my downstairs coat closet on the top two shelves. When building the house this summer I had the foresight to put in a combo light/bathroom ceiling exhaust fan. This works well but it means that I have to constantly switch it on and off. So this morning I fixed that by putting an attic exhaust fan thermostat in line to the power to just the fan.

The question is, what setpoint is recommended to keep this equipment within their operating temperature. I looked in the receiver manual to no avail. Thought it would make a good conversation here.

short. concise. direct.

thank you.

That, as a matter of fact, is exactly where I have it so I guess i am good. thanks!

I was going to say 85 but only because thats the temp I have my air conditioner set to when I'm not home. I'm using a 4" booster fan plugged into a temperature switch set at 85 degrees to cool my rack. I didn't want the fan running all day when nothing was on.

Yeah... the best temp is about 5 to 8 degrees warmer than the ambient temp in the room, or 80 degrees if the room is colder.

You want to keep it well under 88 degrees which seems to be the magic "living conditions" limit.
