Outlander, Penny Dreadful and Other Cool Shows

I have been exploring a bunch of new shows based upon recommendations from friends at work. I must say that some of them are excellent. Outlander is very top-notch. I literally have nothing bad to say about it. Penny Dreadful is another Showtime program that I watched the pilot for tonight. Victorian creepiness at its best. There is a very odd British show called Utopia that is a bit hard to watch, but very good. My wife walked out around the time they were gouging a guy's eye out with a spoon, declaring that she would never watch it again. I tried to watch the pilot for the ABC drama Hannibal, but discovered that the version I had was dubbed in French. I'm rectifying that now. I also have BBC's new Three Musketeers queued up and the History Channel's Vikings. Any other shows I should look for?

i love sleepy hollow. first season was amazing, second is going well, a bit sideways, but still great.

i also love watching scropion, a bit borderline nowadays based on the third episode, but good enough for dinner shows.

hmm... i heard sherlock is amazing (the british version).

hoping this helps. i want to see outlander but showtime cost extra for me.

Sleepy Hallow is one of our favorites. We love the British Sherlock. Scorpion is alright. I've been giving it a shot, but I'm not super impressed. I don't have Showtime either. Usenet for the win!

Based on hearing some really good feedback, we'll be checking out the Fargo series very soon....

I snagged that too, but have not watched it yet.

Caught an episode of Suits on a flight from Mexico to the US. When I got home I got all episodes of the current season and plan to watch them (just don't feel it's necessary to get the first 3 seasons unless I want the back story after watching these.

If you don't watch Mad Men I suggest that highly.

Banshee on Skin-A-Max has got to be one of the best programs on cable.

I'm assuming you already have seen the following:
  1. Game of Thrones (we've had 4 seasons now? In between seasons at present)
True Detective (season one is done, season two is in production I think)
    Sherlock (already mentioned)
The Walking Dead (new season just started)
    Homeland (new season just started)
American Horror Story -- seasons 1 and 2 (I didn't care much for 3 and 4 just started)

Others that you may not have seen:
  1. Vikings (in between seasons at present) (edit: just reread OP and noted you had already queued it up -- I think you'll like it)
Supernatural (even my curmudgeon of a dad likes this show - new season just started)
Something that I've heard is good:
  1. Orphan Black
