My first youtube video ever! Sorry the SQ sucks, it's all muddled because apparently my ancient video cam can't do audio by line-in except for over-dubbing... ugh. So I'm just using the kinda crappy speakers and horrific acoustic environment of my Technics piano. Oh well, you can kinda make it out... I will try to figure out a better system.

This is also the first time I've made a video of myself. Yes it's intentional you can't see my face. I've done audio recordings of myself before, where I can do multiple takes and edit them together into a more mistake-free whole than I can do with video. So there's plenty of missed notes in this one, I'm not good enough to play stuff like this perfectly in a single take.

Anyway, I promised Flint I'd "show him mine if he showed me his" so here we go!

WOW... So much talent.

I hate you all.

 What, you don't like my dress plaid and formal black sweats?

Beautiful Pauly! Thanks for posting it! :text-bravo:

Now, maybe you can "smash" or "Squish" or in my language, "merge" the two videos (yours and Flints) together and you guys may have created a new form of music!!! :music-rockout:

Thanks,

Dennie :eusa-clap:

Chopin with a drum track - what a concept! :scared-eek:

The PaulyFlint Mash-Up! I like it.

Somebody on this forum has the have the ability to do that.

With all these videos, now I want to get in on the action and make one too. I may not play as well as Paul but I'll certainly dress better. :eusa-whistle:

*ahem* Randy...I will if you will.

Thanks Pauly, that was great and you really work the black and green plaid. I was hoping to be the first one to mention it but Towen beat me to it.

Next time can you play the Warsaw Concerto for me? Or maybe bring a good cd version of it to hear at the Batcave, I have a Telarc version I would like to hear your opinion of the recording.

Paul,

That was great!! :text-bravo:

You had to pick something easy like Chopin...........NOT!!!!

Great Job!

I'm not familiar with that piece... googled it, sounds pretty interesting! Yeah definitely bring it, it'll be fun to listen to.

Heeman - thanks, yeah it's not a trivial piece to play, especially without hitting a number of wrong notes! It's one of the few pieces I'm working on that's relatively short, though, so I had some hope of getting mostly through it. I may post some harder stuff later, when I'm a little more prepared. I may try to keep a "video diary" of all the stuff I work on in my lessons, would be an interesting way to see how my playing changes over time.

HOLY COW!!! Great minds think alike. I was gonna ask if you play the Warsaw Concerto too! But I wasn't sure if you took requests!!!

Hah! Give me 6 months and I may have some hope of learning something like that... It takes me forever to learn a new piece.

Well, I was able to play it at a halting, slow, erratic pace back in high school and I didn't have a TENTH the chops that you have. So I'll bet you would do a beautiful job with it!!

Damn fine job Paul...but what do I know, I didn't hear the mistakes. :teasing-neener:

Playing the piano has been a desire since I was a kid but it never happened. I ain't gots no talent guys. Really, I would take it up now if I didn't have to work...stupid bills.

I'm really good at this ---> :music-listening:

Very good! Thanks!

Now let's you and I master Zappa's "The Black Page" and try to record it.

Here's page 8

I'm always fascinated by watching a trained classical pianist's hands, your hands float while the fingers do the playing. In my style, its all forearms...
