Pioneer VSX 41 with Bluray

I realize I have a dinosaur of a receiver and I'm wondering if there is an issue of it properly recognizing and decoding DTS ES that is encoded on the discs? I know on my previous setup on DVD, the DTS icon would appear when it was playing a DTS soundtrack.

I have a coaxial cable running from my OPPO bluray to the receiver. The mixing on it seems off as I have mentioned about the center channel. When I do test tones off a Pixar disc, the rear test tones play in the front speakers.

Does this receiver need to be put out to pasture? Thanks
