One of my all time favorite jazz pianist/vocalist passed yesterday at 89. His piano playing was very percussive and and at times minimalist. He influenced several British rock bands including The Who ("My Generation" was based on his "Young Man's Blues" which can really be heard on the Live at Leeds version) I enjoyed his songwriting and have a number of his albums.
More and more of my favorite artists are passing.
