:( Sad News Harold Ramis passed at 69 RIP

Darn shame. He helped create some of the best movies of a generation- still watchable and enjoyable many years later.

RIP, Funnyman.

I knew he was in all those movies but my first introduction to Harold Ramis was SCTV. Classic stuff and he was extremely funny . RIP

Harold Ramis - RIP

Harold Ramis dies at age 69.

Involved in some respect with some of the all time classic comedies, including:
  • Groundhog Day - Director
    Caddyshack - Director
    Animal House - Writer
    Ghostbusters - Actor/Writer

(TKoP's post merged with this one...)

He was a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. He worked in a mental hospital in St. Louis for seven months. He said "That got me prepared to work in Hollywood."

Got his start working at Playboy Magazine writing the party joke page.

Was the voice of Marty the Moose in Lampoons Vacation :).

What I will respect him best for is at the height of his career he says by to Hollywood and moves back to his root in Chicago.

We will never know why He and Bill Murray had a falling out. But I will say this Murray hasn't been funny since his writing partner split. Life Aquatic was just painful to watch.

Only 69 and sick since 2010 I can only feel sad for the comedy lost man was a true genius.

One of his hidden gems I always laughed my ass off when it came on was Club Paradise.

Hate to hear of his passing. He was funny in the movies listed above and I forgot about him being in Club Paradise.

DIYer,

Great pic.

I have never laughed as much as when, as a boy, I saw Harold play a minor role in a SCTV sketch as Allan 'Crazy Legs' Herschman. Since I could not rewind TV in those days, I spent a month trying to figure out what the hell that was all about. Goodness, that was funny and perfectly placed/timed. I wish I could find that sketch to see what the hell that was all about. It probably won't be as funny since I expect it now.
