Any fans? I've never played any of this series before, but just started IV. Wow, what a hysterical game! I love it. Nice combination of humor with (at least a little) plot, interesting character ranking system, lots of guns and powers and other goodies to play with. Great way to spend a lazy afternoon.

I played the first couple. They're definitely amusing. SR1 was pretty obviously a take off on GTA, but SR2 was where they started to out-GTA the GTA series (about then was when GTA4 came out and was getting a little more gritty and less off the wall). I haven't played 3 or 4, but the series was heading in a good direction.

It's ludicrous and zany sandbox fun.

I've played all of them and had a blast doing so. 4 is my favorite, it's so off the wall. Have you been to a strip club yet Pauly? Don't do it when the kids are around.

:p not yet, but I did do the dominatrix series of quests... got a giant dildo as a melee weapon.

Picked up the new Saints Row: Day One a couple of weeks ago. It's ok, but just isn't as fun as some of the other ones. So far I haven't found a working strip club or casino, and I don't think they even have active Freckle Bitches or Rim Jobs. The controls are a bit different, almost ass backwards, compared to Fallout, so I struggle with that some times. It's still a fun way to kill a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon, and maybe it will get better the more I play.

Well there is a Jim Rob's auto service business. ;)

I've been playing this (on PC), yeah agreed there are some klunky parts but IMHO it gets better as your character gets more skilled. Some of the optional/side stuff is pretty hard for lower level characters, so it helps to put some things off until you level up.

I haven't looked it up, but Jim Rob sounds a lot alike Thomas Haden Church. I haven't done many side missions, other than leaving the reviews at the various restaurants, as well as doing the picture taking and hidden history. I've only done a few missions, last one involved securing the church. Overall, not a bad game, just feels pretty much like the others, but with far less interesting characters. I'll keep playing, or at least until I get bored with it.
