Same volume goal - all inputs

I've noted my HDMI inputs vs optical inputs on volume vary pretty significantly. Is this addressed on my sources or the AV receiver? I have a Sony 75" 4k tv, Oppo 103D, cable box from At&T, and a Yamaha TSR-7790

It’s the sources. I have the same issue with mine.

Some prepros and receivers have a gain control for each input to allow some level adjustment per input.

Some prepares and receives have a gain control for each input to allow some level adjustments you can make.

I'm assuming a bad autocorrect - rather than hangover - is responsible for that post.
