Shuttle launch from a passing airplane

That was Awesome! :text-bravo: :text-bravo:

Thanks Flint, I've never seen it from a plane and I sure appreciate you posting that! WOW!!!

Wait, don't you work for Dell or something? I'm not sure it's entirely appropriate to be spouting this sort of blatant commercialism here... :angry-tappingfoot: :angry-tappingfoot: :angry-tappingfoot:

That would be so awesome to have been in that plane!
Did you catch the pilot's comment? Something like "Those of you on the right side of the plane can see the Space Shuttle launch, while those of you on the left can see the folks on the right watching the Space Shuttle"...

It's pretty cool being up in the air flying over major large scale events like that. I was lucky enough to get to see Mt. St. Helens when it went active again a couple of years ago from a plane. I got to see the fires in So.Cal, No.Cal, Arizona, and NM over the years from the air.

It is pretty cool.

I've seen one 4th of July fireworks display from the air, but the best has been a couple of lightning storms!

How come amateur videos always look so amateurish???. Aren't there at least some amateurs who know how to do basic things like frame a shot or keep the fucking camera steady?? Its life's imponderables like this that drive me nuts. :angry-banghead:

We-e-ell, I noticed this particular cameraman kept asking someone behind him, "I'm not blocking your view, am I?" I prefer them types...

Courtesy is for wimps. :angry-tappingfoot:

excellent video Flint, thanks for sharing. I have never been fortunate enough to a live shuttle launch and havent really seen much while fling, so, I'll have to live vicariously through these types of things.

The launches always seem to look "slow" on TV. That video gives you an idea of how fast that thing's really moving.

Cool video and thanks for sharing.
