SKAA USB Wireless ?

Wardsweb said there is an idea, SKAA ,that is wireless, can handle high res music files. I did a quick google, but seems most of the info is from 2013.
Is this tech just hi $$$$$, just being studied with headphones w/DA & amp ? Sure would be nice to plug the USB sending unit into my phone & plug the receiving USB unit into my receiver and listen to high res music.
Bluetooth is kinda hit or miss, too much interference etc and not high quality.
Wardsweb or anyone, thoughts.....?

What I am watching very closely is WiSA (Wireless Speaker and Audio). This wireless audio standard is extremely wideband (24bit/96kHz), uses unlicensed spectrum (5.2 and 5.8GHz) and has extremely low latency (no need to worry about delays causing lipsync issues like many of the WiFi and Ethernet audio protocols).

I am VERY impressed with the specifications and hope to see more manufacturers than just Klipsch and B&O making products.

The list of participating companies in the WiSA standard gives the impression it will be very successful.

Thanks Wardsweb & Flint. I'll just keep an eye out for future ideas.
Really don't want active speakers & then the trouble of having to run elect power to each speaker....Oh, well.

What am I missing? I use Bluetooth receviers in my office, home, and car without incident. I've tested the performance on all of them and it is impeccable - certainly better than the format on the phone.

Now, for true high resolution audio from a high resolution source file, that's a different matter. But convenience in High-Res seems counter productive.

Aren't there apps that you can run on your PC, and control via your phone, that can send hi-res music from the PC a compatible receiver or device connected to the receiver?

On second thought ... that requires an extra couple of layers and complication that I think you were hoping to avoid (and that complication is why I don't use them either).

Something more like this? Plug into your phone or iPad and stream digital to the NuForce AirDAC at your receiver. Just need a pair of RCA patch cords to go from the DAC to your receiver.

Thats pretty cool but we use android phones.
Flint, we may use a bluetooth system (my son & me anyway). Sorry if I didn't express our thoughts right. Heck, I'm still trying to figure out what we're going to do. I just need something thats simple, my son is a computer guru & may want something else.
But whatever it is will need to work with my refurbed Marantz SR5009, has bluetooth & wifi.

If you have an Android and your Marantz is already setup for it, you are good to go. Just Bluetooth to your receiver direct. No need for anything else.

I use a stand alone BlueTooth receiver which plugs into the analog audio ports. All I do it press the button on the BT receiver, it beeps, and I press play on the music app on my phone. It is that simple.

In fact, on my phone I have an app which recognizes when the phone is newly connected to a specific recognize BT receiver and then automatically starts playing music in my music app based on the last settings (since I typically just run my music on "random", that works perfectly in my car).

Thats what I was thinking, wardsweb. Haven't unboxed the Marantz yet, hope we have the room ready in a week or so to start putting it together. Have everything but a TV.

I'm like you Flint, love using shuttle when listening to music on my phone/M50x headphones.

That would make setting up a system in an existing room phenomenally easier. I also like the idea of active speakers all around and nothing but power cords to content with.
