SMWTMS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

Re: SWMWTS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

I think that's cool, although I would be interested to know which speaker the group preferred out of the Orion and Behringer.

Re: SWMWTS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

Looks like they do it seriously, unlike some local audio meets I've been to.

Re: SWMWTS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

The AA group has MUCH nicer chairs. And food. And speakers. And... :angelic-green:

Re: SWMWTS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

Wonder what area they consider "southeastern Michigan" to be.

Even though i am in Ohio I could be relatively close and sure that Huey and Haywood are in the area.

Re: SWMWTS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

Where are the hot girls?

Re: SWMWTS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

Actually, it was a report on speaker wire from the SWMWTS which got me started in the debunking of audio myths when I was just a kid. These guys are great and are what I always thought an "Audiophile" was until I discovered the pretensious douchebags of the high dollar audio shops who would rather buy a new amp than move their speakers two inches away from the wall.

Re: SWMWTS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

I can almost bet that nobody gets drawed on with a sharpie at their gtg's. Doesn't seem like much fun. Too much math, not enough time just enjoying the gear.

Re: SWMWTS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

But the math is good for the brain between listening sessions! DO THE MATH AND SHOW YOUR WORK!!!!

That's what the pointdexters are for! I don't need to know all of the physics and math behind a roller coaster to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Re: SWMWTS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

I think I just got called common and uninteresting!

Re: SWMWTS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

sorry... kinda lost my will to live there for a second.

I am all better now.

Thanks, I think! :teasing-tease:

Re: SWMWTS = A Room Full of Flint's & a couple of PaulyT's

Even though I was poking fun at these guys, I do appreciate their dedication to tackling audio in a serious manner. Equally their lack of audio snobbery and snake oil marketing. Just like our audio guru's.

I think it might be cool to attend a meeting, of course during the technical parts. I could make sandwiches, make a beer/wine run or whatever menial jobs need doing by someone who is math challenged. :?
