Well I was able to see this tonight.. My local theater had a special 2 shows tonight! Cool to see it before the opening date.

I know a bunch of us are going so no plot give-a-ways, but I can say this..

It's different.
McCoy was again one of my favorite characters and I thought he shined!
I didn't care the director's view of things.
Too many things are not in the traditional "Star Trek" way.
Not my favorite Star Trek movie, actually it might be my least favorite.
However, it's got 91% on Rotten Tomatoes some lots of people loved it.

Maybe it's just me.
Curious of the take from other Star Trek fans here.
I'm going to see it again with everyone at Bats so maybe I'll like it more the then.

Did they at least give a tribute to Anton Yelchin who died last month. I figure they might as the movie was maybe still in post production.

I'm willing to bet that the next movie (you know they'll be a 4th one) will pay him some sort of tribute.

Looking forward to seeing this one.

Btw when I was at the gtg we saw this movie and right after the nod to Leonard Nimoy the film did say ' For our dear friend Anton". So they did pay respect to both.
