Starbuck

Botch

MetaBotch Doggy Dogg Mellencamp
Superstar
This popped up on Farcebook, a one-hit wonder. What's ironic is this tune completely flooded my brain, about three months ago, and I had no idea who it was. Killer marimba solo!

That knocked me back in time 35+ years.

Wow. Can I have some bread with that cheese?
Yup! I hated most of what was on the radio in the 70's, but when I hear a song from then (especially one, like this, which I haven't heard in decades) it makes me smile/giggle! :angelic-green:

Lots of songs from the 70's that may seem cheesy now but I was 10 in 1974 so I thought a lot of those songs rocked!! Like you, I still smile when I hear them. This guy is Canadian so I am not sure how much airplay it got in the US.

I have that song in one of my iTunes playlists. I sampled a collection of the top 100 Billboards list from the 70's ( 1,000 songs) and kept 390 of them. I don't listen to them much but they sure do bring back memories of my childhood.

I love Starbuck and have had it in my iPod for a couple years now. I am a huge fan of 70's music from that time.

Some others to consider.

Heaven on the seventh floor by Paul Nicholas
How Long by Ace
Year of the Cat and Time Passages by Al Stewart
Windy by The Association
Everytime I Think of you by The Baby's
Eve of Destruction by Barry McGuire
Strawberry Letter 23 by The Brothers Johnson
Stormy or Spooky by The Classics IV
Hot Rod Lincoln by Commander Cody
Season of the Witch or Mellow Yellow by Donovan
Dream Weaver by Gary Wright
Get it Right Next Time by Gerry Rafferty
Alone Again Naturally by Gilbert O'Sullivan
Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell
The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot
The Air that I breathe by The Hollies
At 17 by Janice Ian
Wild Wood Weed by Jim Stafford
I Like Dreaming by Kenny Nolan
I'm not in Love by 10CC

You make me feel like dancing or Long Tall Glasses by Leo Sayer
Me and You and a dog named Boo by Lobo
Midnight at the Oasis by Maria Muldaur
Bluer than Blue by Michael Johnson
Wildfire by Michael Martin Murphy
Native New Yorker by Odyssey
Cool Night or I Go Crazy by Paul Davis
Magic by Pilot (same sound as Starbuck)
Baby Come Back by Player
Life is a Rock (but the Radio rolled me) by Reunion
Him by Rupert Holmes (better than the lame ass Piña Colada song)
Smoke from a distant fire by Sanford Townsend Band
Wildflower by Skylark
Ballroom Blitz or Love is like Oxygen by Sweet
One Less Bell to Answer by The 5th Dimension

These to me are all great lost 70's songs (and yes I have them all on my iPod collection).

My buddy Bunny (who's recorded a lot of the music on your Guitar Hero game) was asking for iconic, yet underplayed, 60-80's songs to get licensing as ad songs for his newest project. I'd heard one just that day that I didn't know the name of, just by describing it ProgramGirl was able to post a video of the song I was thinking of! Check it out!
