Two thoughts:

1. WTF?!!!
and
2. Was that Lando Calrissian in a Jackson 5 video?

I'm halfway torn between mocking it for its "Starwars-meets-Waterworld-meets-Coccoon-meets-2001 a Space Odessey-meets Tron" special effects. The whole thing is definitely a little bit, erm, different than what we typically get these days.

I'm also halfway in awe.

This probably cost a pretty penny (and then some) to make back then. Plus, it's way cooler than Thriller.

I vaguely remember that.
Maybe it's just me but were the sound effects louder than the music?

Definitely.

There was another YouTube video where I swear the effects were even louder. Personally, I like the song better without the sound effects (as I came across it on one of MJs hits compilations). But the video wouldn't be as kick-ass without 'em!

Wow I sure do miss the psychotropic drugs I took in the 80's

Also it may just be me but that one black guy sure looked a lot like Michael Jackson. :happy-smileygiantred:

Yeah... but the nose wasn't quite right.

Too bad MJ became addicted to plastic surgery, fascinated with talking/singing exclusively in a falsetto voice, and (allegedly) a pedo---THAT'S JUST WRONG! Basically, he just got f'n weird. And he sucked ass on most of his stuff post-Thriller. It's interesting to hear him sing the late-Seventies song, "Blame it on the Boogie" where he mostly sings falsetto but still manages to bring the vocal down to a slightly more natural, manly range occasionally.
