For all the reasons to fund or de-fund PBS, there is one reason we should fund them for the life of this nation - they once ran Andy Kaufman's TV show:

 
I wish I could have made a living by essentially flipping the middle finger to everyone and putting as little effort as possible into trying to be entertaining.

Kaufman was an asshole and the only person he ever gave a damn about being entertained was himself. The fact that he got paid to fuck with people makes no sense to me. I honestly believe that people refer to him as a "genius" because they want other to believe that they are sophisticated and smart enough to get his humor.
