The revolution that was the B-52s!

Heard on the radio yesterday where they would be touring with Simple Minds in Australia in the coming months.

I wouldn't mind seeing that show if they do that in the States.

I thought the girls retired from the band. That group may be a B-52s cover band with one or two original members.

That I couldn't tell you. I'm sure it may not be the original lineup, but the DJ didn't mention anything about them being a cover band. At the same time, you have to wonder where the DJ was also getting his info.

They never announce that the band is really a bunch of studio musicians backing the singer, or whatever. Look at Guns -n- Roses when it was basically Axl and some band. Same for Chicago - half the people on the stage at most of their shows weren't even born with CTA came out.

That said, I decided to do some research rather than speculate, and I was right and wrong about the girls. Each of them have retied and re-joined several times. The guitar player, Keith, retired from touring a few years ago. That said, they all join together for high profile performances, like broadcast events and such. I cannot find any info on the touring line-up for the Australian tour.

Those voices have always sounded like fingernails on a blackboard to me, never got into them.
