"Factory Farms" are a part of our food chain, and I don't know how we would effectively feed people without them, but I am all for free range animal farms, and locally fresh grown produce when possible. The problem at times, is you get city folk moving to the country, and complain about the smells of free range farming, all the while eating their hamburger. This is a pretty good commercial, and hopefully Chipolte practices what they preach.

Without McDonald's massive investment in Chipotle they would have never become as big as they are. From the time McDonald's started investing in Chipotle until the IPO of the company, the chain grew from 16 stores to over 500. McDonald's eventually decided to divest of all the brands outside of their core McDonald's brand.

I laugh at much of the jargon of the anti-factory food movement. The activists (mostly Vegans) have successfully convinced the American public that all forms of mass production of any food product is always inherently unhealthy for us. While that can be true, it is also true that traditional small production and hand produced foods can be unhealthy. I think it is a mix of everything. Sometimes factories are good, sometimes they are not. It isn't the factory that malnourishes people, it is the people who design the recipes for the factories that do.
