Saw the Stooges film tonight with the wife and probably ten others (that's total, not friends) at the local theater tonight. I thought it was a hoot, but then again, I'm a big Stooges fan. Even with 12 people, I can't remember the last time I heard so many laugh out loud during a film. On several occasions, even my wife was laughing for good periods of time even though I think she went along primarily to placate me. There were plenty of funny spots, and it never got bad. Many of the sight gags and situations from the shorts were integrated into the film in dissimilar ways. For example, the rock in the bucket gag was done with sledgehammer steel that flew off the handle earlier. The exploding hot-plate jumping up off the table in the original short was paid tribute with some dynamite inside a body cast.
