The Walkmen - Heaven

In the years you haven't heard from me, my music tastes have changed.

I'm a fan of the The Walkmen. I enjoyed their "You and Me", "Lisbon", and their new one "Heaven" albums.

This song my daughter and I listen to in the car...

So what did you listen to before?

As for The Walkmen, I halfways expected to hear some sixties folk music based on that clean-cut cover picture for the video. But it's not half bad. This particular song isn't quite hooking me, but it ain't half bad either. Could be promising stuff.

Kazaam, it isn't the "hooky" type music. Here's a song I like from their You and Me album entitled "on the water". They took me a long time to grow on me. Love the tail of the song starting around 1:58 of it.

Not so important what I listened to as to what I listen to now. I am always seeking out new stuff.

But groups I enjoy are:

The Walkmen
Arcade Fire
Heartless Bastards
Modest Mouse (Liked them before)
The National
Okkervil River
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Wilco
Los Campesinos!
Interpol (last album sucked)
The Black Keys (saw them when they were small time)
Radiohead (enjoy their late 90's early 2000's stuff)

All of these groups I saw live at one point minus Yeah Yeah Yeahs (love me some Karen O) and Modest Mouse

So what I'm hearing is that you used to play the heck out of that Vanilla Ice cassette??? Don't worry, I'm on my third copy. And I'll be first in line to buy "To The Extreme" if they ever remaster it for Gold CD. But I hear ya. Discovering new music is good. Though I'll probably go old-school and buy Kid 'N Play's "2Hype" CD someday.

fwiw... I recently bought a Black Keys album. It's the one with the minivan on it.

El Camino. Not a bad album. My daughter loves "Lonely Boy"
