Titanic 3D

So I just saw the add for Titanic being in theaters in 3D.

I'm not planning on seeing this in 3D.... BUT... This leads me to believe that in a few months they will release the BluRay and 3D versions.

It's about time if they do!

It's #2 on the all time world wide list of top grossing box office sales, and I've been wanting it ever since my first BluRay movie.

... here's hoping it gets to BluRay soon!

What will it look like compared to a movie that was shot in 3D to begin with? I thought I read here that movies like that don't transition well to 3D (ex: Harry Potter).

I am thinking about sneaking half way into the film, after seeing some other movie. I just want to see the part where the ship sinks. James Cameron said he is spending twice as much money as anyone else on the conversion. To make sure it looks right, I never really cared for the story in Titanic, I am interested to see how it compares to Phantom Menance's conversion which was nothing to rave about.

Alos from watching a documentary on movie critics, I see where Kenneth Turan critic for the LA Times also did not like it. For which he received a lot of criticism, until Cameron tried to have him fired :violence-torch:

FYI, Panasonic's exclusive with the 3D version of Avatar, is up sometime in 2012, I see used the Bluray still get's $80 or more.

Great I'll be bored for 2.5 hours in 3D till they get to 30 minutes of excitement and then 15 more minutes of intense boredom. I recall saying (a tad too loud in the theater mind you), "You Stupid Bitch" when that old lady tossed that diamond necklace in the ocean. Needless to say the chorus of "Boos" I got from a theater of delusional women was overwhelming. :happy-smileygiantred:

I have never seen the movie so I will most likely go check it out.

Star Wars wasnt all that great.......the 3D......and the movie. lol.

Ho and if Cameron is gonna start 3D'n his films the please....PLEASE......PULEEEEZ do ALIENS!!!!!

Snuck in tonight after watching Cabin the in the Woods and saw the last 1/3 of Titanic in 3D. Well despite spending twice as much for the conversion process, I was not that impressed. Water looked kind of cool spilling out into the theatre and some other objects seemed to pop out at you. But compared to Wrath of the Titan's it seemed rather lame in the 3D dept. also some of the long range shots seemed not up to high def standards (fuzzy & lack of detail), also some of the 3D stuff seemed fake or gimmicky, also when panning I saw lots of motion blur.

To take 3D to the next level the Hobbit should fit the bill, it will be using 5K, 48fps, and 48 RED EPIC cameras. http://www.hd-report.com/2011/11/11/pet ... c-cameras/

Matt is right too, that old bitch should have at least sold the diamond and gave the money to charity, instead of tossing it over the side like some lucky penny or a flower.
