Victor Wooten - Kaila Speaks

I'm so glad someone put this up on YouTube:

After a brief bass/keyboard intro, Victor has a "conversation" with his 13-month-old daughter Kaila. She does most of the talking :eusa-whistle:
Then, he and his brother on keys play the conversation back, and harmonize/compose off her speaking. Its a stunning piece of music. I normally can't stand little kids' voices in music, but this is something else.

Any other Wooten fans here, with so many bass players on the forum? Vic is a monster.

That was really cool and very interesting. And, yes Victor Wooten is a monster on the bass guitar. That dude is amazing.

+1 Yeah I love Wooten's stuff, though I'm mainly familiar with him as a member of the Flecktones. I should check out some of his other work...

Wow. What a wonderful, creative way to capture and save a beautiful moment with your child!!!

Why does someone have to post it on Youtube when you can just buy it and own it legally and allow Victor to earn a living on a piece of art you really want to hear?

Victor Wooten is a bass god!

Flint, I get waht you are saying and I COMPLETELY believe in the artist's right to their intellectual property. But, I have bought a lot of music from artist that I heard on youtube and likely would have never listened to without stumbling onto them via youtube.

I know... I am just ball-busting.

In my life there are about a dozen people who never buy music anymore. They get it free from the web, usually via authorized outlets like Youtube, internet radio, or Spotify, etc. There's nothing wrong with that, it is legal. I just wish more people who love someone's music, performance, or talent would willingly pay them for the honor and pleasure of experiencing it.
