I think we're all used to the idea of clicking on a picture of a Lexus on a browser screen, and then Lexus ads appear on everything from your forums to your Amazon "Recommended" list. Well, the Vizio TVs are doing that now (default set to "on") and also take your IP address so they can send targeted ads to your other iToys.
"Give us your moneeeey!!"
 
I turned that one off.

Some other brands (Samsung, I think, but I'm not certain) also uses the camera and microphone to help with their ad service.

It's getting pretty damn sad when, instead of being concerned with performance, number/type of connections, and price, we're having to focus on "Will this POS device sell me to the highest bidder every chance it gets?"
