After secret code it is $250 out the door. I recommneded this to a cost concious friend whose wife would shit kittens if he put a 22" cube subwoofer in there LR.

I told him if he didn't like it I would buy it off of him.

Was I wrong?

btw, this is a guy who did ALL in wall/inceiling speakers and hung his tv on the wall. so it had to be clean.
 
I've never heard a 8" sub I've liked.

This subwoofer gets alot of recommendations across the forum world.

He's asking for advice from someone and telling them it's form over function. I highly doubt it's in play. It's either a small sub from HSU, SVS or a purdy one, like that round one from KEF. I'd venture a guess that Mirage is about as good as every other one in it's price and size range aside from the HSU (Outlaw branded one too) and SVS little ones.
 
Maximo, the best he'll get out of an 8" sub is maybe 35Hz (and that's a big if) have him go for the Hsu or SVS 10"
 
yeah but he can't swing three times the price right now. I htink he ordered it. I told him if he didn't like it I would buy it off of him. Pretty curious to see how it performs. You gotta remember, he ain't like us. He's normal. He'll never miss those extra 15hz.
 
Maximo, check out Amazon,I see this hit around 200 I think for the same model. Apparently this bad boys small enough to push some weight but not with a constant signal.

YEah good price. but MM8 for $50 more? I'll take it. I have been very surprised by my little 8" energy with it's one woofer and no passive radiator and no it does not have a 1200 watt amp, and I still love it.

Many years ago while I was listening for a sub....I was amazed with not only the Energy subs but their speakers as well. I have a friend that still has his little Energy sub along with NHT Super Ones....still sounds wonderful for such a small package...in his small family room.
 
the wierd part? since i moved into my new condo, im thinking to just keep using my energies compared to getting my full on RB-61's which is in the living room.

maybe its my hearing degrading or something... anyways, maximo, what do you think of the sub tho? comparative to those 100 clam subs?

Been there done that at least a dozen times. The worst one was a guy at work. I had at least 8 hrs into helpin him shop for a big screen. All I asked was that he gave my buddy a chance. Next day he comes into work and tells me he went to Sears and bought one.
