Wrote a thermal camera app over year end and have been using it to identify and fix thermal problems around the house.
These 2 pictures are of a hallway with a solar tube skylight in the middle (round ring).
The thermal images were taken 2 days in a row at the same time of day with same outside temps with no cloud cover (before and after updated insulation).
The squiggly line plots 256 temps across the screen from left to right under the black line. Note the horizontal plot delta between the 2 images.
Average hallway temps dropped 4.5 degrees F. There is still more work to be done above that hallway.
It has identified uninsulated outside walls which are being addressed as well as HVAC issues.
Best images are when there are opposing temps inside and outside.
