wirelessly connect to tv?

My boss wants to put a 60" flatty and connect to it wirelessly via laptop, cellphone, tablet etc... anythi g like that out there yet?

Nope. At least not for ally those. There is wi-di but it doesn't work with everything.

There are too many "standards" and no one standard covers everything.

You can get fancy stand alone devices, and most of them work. However, not all of them support audio.

I installed a Netgear push2TV unit at my wife's office http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msu ... origin=pla

But could never get it to work consistently.

I then replaced it with the Dlink model:

They've been using this every Monday morning for their meetings for 2 years with no hiccups or "tech support" calls to me.
You do have to have a compatible "Intel" chipset to use the D-Link.

If you want to connect Apple products you could use an Apple TV.

However, there's precious little that one can do like that that one can't do easier with far less hassle than just having VGA and HDMI cables for wired connections. Not as pretty, not as much freedom, but it WILL work.

What about sharing the media on the devices and using DLNA apps to push the media to the TV (or the TV to grab it directly) via wi-fi? I would highly recommend he put a wired network connection to the TV to ensure consistent performance.

I agree witht the wired idea. Always the most stable. Thanls for your suggestions. I am going to start checki g them out.
