Thanks Flint,
Good info and food for thought.
Not disagreeing with you, but why did I read a couple of spots that distortion was less on a sealed? Do you think that is maybe the case up until a certain SPL level? Even a video from SVS said sealed Subwoofers generally have less distortion and...
So I'm looking at subs today and trying to figure out what is best for my setup. I am reading a lot of talk about ported sub vs sealed. This varies a lot on the articles out there.
I'm getting mostly the following....
Ported:
Better for HT
Typically bigger
More out put and move more air
Can...
Did I miss this somewhere...
This looks pretty cool and I will be on board if the pic is not effected.

surprised no one else commented on this.. probably because of the length of the video...
But this has been an eye opener, those of you who haven't watched it, find the time!
Thanks for the video Flint!
This one should be pinned.
Yeah, seeing how it works in the example video, I understand how they may want to use 48kHz or in your sited version 64kHz as they are being used for making things work better. But who came up with 96kHz and what is the purpose? 192? 384? WTF??
I never really knew how sampling rates worked but...
This almost comes off as a conspiracy theorist. But now I'm starting to wonder....
Do you think artist record a separate "cleaned up" version of a song just to sell it as HD???? I guest that is possible.
So this all makes sense, except why do my 192khz and 96khz recording still sound better?
He forgot to post the link to his blog about the sample diff he made of the different formats 128, 256, 320, he talks about it around 46:48
great work!!!
I really would love to hear that system of yours Heeman! Now put up some pics.
Ok, No laughing at this next question...
On the final check on the TrueRTA, the SPL levels in the low frequencies are around 55 and then go up to 80 in the high end. Why is that? Don't you want it...
I'm looking forward to your amp arrival and your thoughts.
I would use a sound meter and take notice of sound at different sound levels from your current setup to the new amp. See if you notice anything like maybe a cleaner sound at higher levels or something.
