What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

Watched Close last night. Never heard anything about it but liked Noomi Rapace in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Promethius. Without giving anything away, the ending didn't seem to fit or maybe I just didn't get it.

    Cool new DIY Equipment Rack

Very cool! I built something similar about 20 years ago using 3/4" rods. I even added a matching coffee table. Check out the massive TV. Oh how times change. My computer monitor is bigger than that now. :D Although, I will always love the Martin Logan CLS electrostats.

Streamed Mortal Engines last night. A lot of CGI went into making that movie. Rose and I liked it. Not a classic but fun.

Wimps!!! You are all subwoofer wimps!!!

I'll stay with my Danley Sound Labs DTS-10. It has a smaller foot print, is more efficient and still produces a continuous 127dB 15 Hz- 70 Hz - 3dB and 133dB peak with 1000 watts continuous ( not that I push it that hard in my den). Bottom line is I like it.

What Movie(s) Did You Watch Today?

I'm not huge into historical movies but Rose is a history buff and loves period pieces, so we watched Mary Queen of Scots last night. At least, I had Rose here give me ongoing background, insight and historical accuracy with the movie. I thought Saoirse Ronan did an outstanding job.

Working to get the room right is seldom easy

I have been working with a friend who recently moved and his new system room is a nightmare. There are exposed rafters in the ceiling, a huge opening on one side going into an adjacent room that echoes. The other side has openings between columns going into another . We have been testing with...

    Acoustics, What Acoustics?

I understand where a compromise has been made because the system is not in a dedicated listening room or the spouse says no way to disrupting the rooms design esthetic, but for systems where there are options not taken, I don't. The room is the number one thing that affects the sound.

My Experience with Local Audiophile Dream System

The audio world is very diverse and exists on both ends of the financial spectrum. It has as many variations, as there are people listening. Some build to impress, some for technical excellence, some for the gear and some for the music. The good and bad in all this is ignorance is bliss. If you...
