I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
This guy disagree's that active is in the near future, but he says nothing about whether active is better or not. Just audiophile's wanting this or that sound out of their amps. While I do love the look of my used Pass Labs XL250, I would prefer the sonic benefits of active. Also since I like...
Flint, how are speakers like mine and the Altec A7's able to do great bass and still sound very good in the midrange? Without a dedicated midrange and without our big 15" woofers getting in the way of the midrange sound? FYI, my woofers plays up to 700, before crossing over to the horn section.
So you can compensate for the baffle step in the frequency response domain, by increasing the output of the woofers. But what happens with the soundstage? Is that also compensated for or does the bass become just become omnidirectional in a tower, vs the forward firing bass of a speaker with a...
Hey thanks, that was pretty cool. To compensate for my terrible math skills, where would my speakers at 22" wide come in at? Also, how about the Altec A7 VOTT which comes in at a really wide 30"?
Flint, can you go over again please, the value of having wider bass cabinets like Rammis and yours VS today's narrow tower speaker cabinet? What frequencies does the cancellation effect happen at, when they wrap around the narrow tower speakers? Also how does this effect the sound we hear at the...

While I am a big YG Acoustics fan, I am not sure what qualifies this as a Hyper-High End Subwoofer. Other than most everything being made of aluminum and everything being overbuilt, could not find a price. I am sure they will bring it to AXPONA...

These speakers seem to have a lot bang for the buck, would love to see a face off vs Wilson's Tune at $10,000, I've seen the frequency response chart on HiFi-News for the Wilson's and it's fairly ragged...
Well if you want to bring them to AXPONA 2019, April 12-14th in Chicago http://www.axpona.com I volunteer to come help you in setup, be an Uber driver and general gopher. As long as you give me some free swag, like a t-shirt and maybe a hat with the Flint logo.
Thanks for the breakdown of the business side Flint, however I can think of one thing you forgot. What is the forum discount price for these speakers??? Discount should of course be higher for members who contributed to this thread.
Any guesses on how much this speaker would cost if mass marketed to the public, how about internet direct price vs dealer price? Or how much with the Flint brand name vs an upscale name brand price?
Fantastic looking speakers, I love the clean driver look with no mounting screws visible. I always thought that looked distracting and cheap, not to mention bad for diffraction if they stick out. This plus your rounded over cabinetry, make them look more like Focal than Wilson Audio which is a...
Just curious, could list you list the cost of the individual drivers? Woofer, midrange, and tweeter? Also how about a link to the various manufacturer's websites so we can read about the individual drivers themselves?
Looks very professional Flint, great job!

Steve used to own Magnepan 3.6's, so surprised he didn't mention Magnepan's True Ribbon Tweeter which they used. Which are considered much better in sound quality than his current Quasi Ribbon Tweeter. The True Ribbon's have a much better dispersion, but have problems with compression and being...
