I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
it's worse than you think. i just ordered the C5 so i can directly a/b with the E12 when it arrives and then sell or return the loser. somebody must please come unplug my computer already. or maybe if i'm lucky we'll have an extended power outage in the next day or two.
ooh that is way outside my knowledge base, so i'm gonna just assume you answered my question. yes, hardware eq despite no potentiometers. so ok cool then, that was awesome. thanks! :)
very neat. i'm soooooo behind in the HP & portable realm, having just received an X3 and still waiting for my first HP amp to arrive. but someday i'm almost certain to step up to the X5/DX90 class.
it's so cool how this HP and portable stuff is so cheap compared to large/main system stuff, when...
hate to off-topic my own thread but i just edited the features section to include a mention that the T & B adjustments are hardware based, as opposed to software. people seem pretty happy about this but i'm afraid i don't know that it means. i woulda thought "hardware" means actual...
you're lucky. the headphone jack on my receiver is less than stellar and there's no easy way to line out, so anything i wanna hear with my HD600's at nearly full potential will have to be from my portable HP system and i therefore need to get as much on there as i can.
as for the FiiO limit...
yeah it really makes you wonder, right? i know nothing about coding & software for things like this so i have no idea if it's a common or unavoidable limitation for some reason??
incidentally i first noticed it when i couldn't find an album i had just added whilst searching under the Album...
i did a search didn't see a single thread here containing this phrase, so here's the first post about this unit i guess.
for those who haven't read about my recent initiation into decent HP equipment, i just got a set of HD600's and this set off a pursuit of better source equipment. i was...
ok so i don't know how i missed this but i just discovered the Cayin C5 amp. might this have been a better choice than the E12 i am still waiting to receive? (see? i'm already obsessing and 2nd guessing.)
lol, no just kitchen knives. so far ours are mostly from the Victorinox Forged line, except for the one Fibrox 10" chef's knife (rarely need this large size). and the pride of my collection is a Mac MTH-80, which is amazing.
and that's an impressive musical list, amigo.
oh yes i almost forgot: i'm a bit of a knife guy. but again, like tv's, it was only out of necessity because we needed new ones and so i did a decent amount of research before buying.
and now i think you need to tell me what all instruments you play, and what sorts of venues. i am almost...
yeah no kidding about the turnover. it's just like the pedal effects classifieds on electric guitar forums (my other world of obsession).
so that gets me thinking: how many of you have other equally obsessive pursuits? for me it's audio, guitar gear and to a much lesser extent tv's (which i...
Hey thanks, Paul.
so the Fiio X3 to arrives today and i just sealed the deal on a used Fiio E12 v1 (off Head-Fi), which is the pre-production version with bass boost focused in the sub bass region (peak at about 20 Hz). this version seems like the better choice to pair with the HD600's. i'm...
ok so i got HD600's 2 days ago and without going into too much detail (being in full honeymoon phase), i am beside myself with glee. the door has been kicked down, the fog has lifted, the blinders cast aside. i am amazed. my whole understanding of listening to music has changed - i will never be...
yeah, you you know man i just need to forget about it for now. you're right i think. i get so fixated when i get a thing like this in my head. i almost clicked BUY on an E11 on Amazon until i read about amps in this class maybe not being so great for cans over about 150 ohm or so. better to just...
OK cool, thanks. The Fiio E11 is $60 on Amazon. Any idea how that compares to the E5?
And I notice a conspicuous lack of talk about JDS Labs - is there a reason? The current version cMoy is also $60.
