2 Million Dollar listening room on DIY Network

This should be good http://www.diynetwork.com/million-dolla ... index.html Wonder what kind of speakers he has? Also when can I come over for a listening session. Next episode is Mar 9th at 1:30pm and Sunday at Mar 11 at 5:30 e/p time, more in the link.

What is an 18,000 square foot apartment missing? A listening room, of course! Licensed contractor Stephen Fanuka and a team of audio engineers build a room that is perfectly suited to listening to music, while also pleasing to the eye. That means no flat surfaces anywhere in the room, special acoustic fabrics and building materials, and engineers' tests to confirm perfect audio clarity. The client charges Fanuka to build the best listening room in the world, and he delivers nothing less.

Cool, I just set my DVR for tomorrow. I've seen this show once or twice before and enjoyed it. This could be interesting! The main guy from the show I have seen has a custom cabinet making business. I wonder what his plans are for this.

From another forum: Just watched it. The speakers were Rockport Arrakis. The power amps were Krell Master Reference. The preamp looked like Audio Research's anniversary unit. The CD player was also Audio Research. The Rockports are $165.00 a pair, Whoa

I'm sure that's a typo. Who spends $2M on a room and connects $200 speakers to $200,000 worth of amplification?

Yep, typo. I was on lunch at work and was rushing things. Try $165k, and that is for the non active versions. Not to be a nit picker but I thought the colors of room sucked, white, black and blue. Also the primary and only listening chair did seem not impressive. Those speakers and the amps to go with them did look awe inspiring though. Never heard of a polycarbonate floor, seems like that would scratch easily.

Polycarbonite is what they make the highest end eyeglasses out of because it is much light and thinner than glass, doesn't crack or shatter, and doesn't scratch as easy as any other non-glass material. If it is a textured at all, I imagine it is amazingly durable.
