Amazon Music phasing out MP3 upload storage

Wow. I had no idea it was that manipulative. That is a bit scary.

I do not make much use of search engines, as almost all of my web use is done via bookmarks to specific sites. A decent number of those sites are for insurance, financial and medical service providers where I have accounts. I only shop at five stores and always via bookmark. My social networking is limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, AVS Forums, Plex Forums and this place. I also have links to several church and Masonic organizations. My search engine use is limited to very targeted searches for things like user manuals, device drivers, specific pieces of open source software or very targeted information. If I need general information, I mostly just go to Wikipedia or IMDB. Google News is convenient, but not very useful, as it targets the information to my perceived biases. That is why I moved to using news aggregation apps on my phone.

I may be wrong, but I suspect that my pattern of use makes it harder to manipulate my behavior.

Not at all. If you use Chrome, gmail, and Google Search, they are studying you and discovering how you use the internet. If you ever clock on one of the ads they put out, or even hover over the ad while reading an article, they know it. If you watch YouTube, they know more. It is kinda scary how omnipresent they are if you don't determine to avoid them - and even then it is nearly impossible to enjoy the internet without some Google products being used.
