Another victory for content Nazis: HDFury discontinues the Integral

I just got an email from HDFury. Due to continuing pressure from organizations like the MPAA, they are discontinuing the product they created to allow people with older receivers and early generation 4K displays extend the life of their gear. This device was not designed for piracy and pirating content with a device like this would be difficult and very sub-optimal, so this is just another example of Hollywood being a dickhead. I'm sure this will warm the hearts of money grubbing entertainment industry lawyers, but it is a drag for consumers.

I still have my HDFury which I'm giving to my twin and brother in law when they pick up my Pioneer RPTV also giving them my DVDO VP30 so they can shrink the screen so there is no overscan whatsoever. It did so much in sharpening up the picture and the Gamma control was also great. Since all my TV's now have HDMI I no longer need the HDFury.

HDFury is a company. The Integral is a different device than the one you had. The integral is an HDMI splitter that allows you to downgrade the HDCP from 2.2 to 1.4, so that you can play content on first generation 4K TV sets. The other popular use is the have one output pass through the HDMI 2.0a/HDCP 2.2 to the display while the other sends HDMI 1.4 to the receiver for audio.
