Their website is still up: https://www.ati-amp.com/
A quick search finds that ATI (American Technologies Inc.) is closed. Not to be confused with ATI (Amplifier Technologies Inc).
What would be some of your recommendations for low, Mid, and high end class D amps?ATI (and all the sister brands under the ATI umbrella) was put up for sale a couple years ago but had no takers. Around the same time, the original building at 1749 Chapin Rd in Montebello was sold and they moved to several leased spaces. They have been laying off staff for a year or so, and have been barely hanging on since.
It wouldn't surprise me that they recently closed the doors for good, or are about to. I'm amazed the market for big, expensive class A/B amplifiers is still viable in the age of competent and inexpensive class D amps. Monoprice was their only current OEM client as far as I know, and they list little if any ATI sourced gear on their website. Most of what they list is much lower priced amps probably made in China.![]()
Fosi is a low cost brand I've had good luck with. No idea about the mid range, but at the high end, amps using either the Hypex NCx or latest generation Purifi modules can't be beat. I did design work on a Hypex NCx amp at ATI toward the end of my time there (although apparently it was never released due to financial problems), and they are very good. I just bought a Purifi 2 channel amp from Buckeye to drive my Magnepan 2.7i speakers when they arrive. What would be some of your recommendations for low, Mid, and high end class D amps?
