My gaming pals all upgraded their consoles a while ago while I have been clinging to my XBOX One mostly because I don't have a 4K TV and if it ain't broke why replace it. It was not an issue for the games we have been playing together (primarily Destiny and previous Battlefield installments... some Borderlands here and there). But the new Battlefield 6 game won't play on an XBOX One so I was forced to upgrade if I wanted to keep playing with my pals. Picked up a Series X console this past weekend and ran the Battlefield campaign to get familiar with any new game mechanics. Will dive into multiplayer with my group some time this week. We prefer the larger Conquest maps and player lobbies vs. shooting gallery smaller maps and hectic run-and gun-die-respawn-repeat gameplay of COD and other Battlefield modes. Suits our pace of play better. Large maps, playing objectives, vehicle options, more variety, etc.
The new console seems nice although there were some (known) bugs getting it to output proper 5.1 audio. Took a few Reddit threads and Google searches to get it sorted out but it's all working now. Also had another (known) bug to work out getting access the my old EA account for Battlefield access. Had not been logged in since BF1 and BFV (we jumped ship on BF when the 2042 wingsuit madness came around). But sorted that out with some Reddit research as well. Thank you internet.
