Cheaper commute/office headphones

War Never Changes
i got bit.

recently with the move upstairs i am now plagued with dealing with a couple of noisy colleagues. my neighbor also agrees on it, but found no time to 'bring it up' with our new Assistant controller.

so, it gets noisy and most of us just have to deal with it. i bought neighbor some of these and he uses em a lot,

i on the other hand wanted to play some more music to drown out the work noise. cant. cause my neighbor uses my gift as soon as i play something a weee bit louder.

i experimented and brought my sens 212pros to work and asked permission (how is office politics on headphones anyways, albeit not using the phone quite often, i wonder if i can get away with it)...

anyways, he gives me a go, and well, played my HD for a while.

i tried to use em off my ears, sorta like a cheaper way of playing music 'near field' :text-imsorry:

i was hoping to get some new headphones, since on the commute home, i cant fold em up etc.

i was trying to get some jvcs

heck even some sony with a headset

but realize no matter what i do, the nexus 5's microphone problems wont be solved by better headsets.

so, was researching till about 1 this morning and stumbled on the famed audio technica's...

i cant get the 50x's but i CAN afford the 30x.

i was going to go for the 20's but they aint collapsible.

saw a review via sonic sense.... im definitely behind on hp, but man, this was an amazing experience seeing you can 'hear (to a certain degree i guess)' how the HP sound like...

http://www.sonicsense.com/blog/headphon ... r-yourself

at the bottom of the page you can 'listen' to certain tracks on different hp's and er... compare them. pretty cool!

so, thoughts? id like noise isolation to be priority, so i cant hear others nor can others hear me jamming to lady gaga or what not. i can probably end up putting it around my neck too, just so i can 'listen' but not be too obnoxious. and of course, inexpensive. yes its not doable, but ive hit my diminishing returns with the 30x price point. :text-imsorry:

i tend to avoid IEM's simply because i walk a lot going to and fro work. i hate hearing my thump thump thump each time my feet hit the ground. and of course, its not as comfortable as some hp's despite its size. altho i might consider these,
