Crossover Question

I have a great little pair of Mackie computer speakers, but they do not produce much bass. The subwoofer I have kicking around does not have line-level pass-thru, so I need to use a crossover of some type. I've been looking online for something simple and cheap, but I have yet to find anything.

Suggestions?

There are preamps with crossovers built in, or you can spend $100, or so, on an outboard crossover. I see pro-grade crossovers all the time on Craigslist for about $100.

Yeah. That's what I was afraid of. I only paid about that much for the speakers.

I solved the problem without spending any money. Cancelling the family room system freed up my trusty old Energy EPS-150 subwoofer, which has line-level ins and outs. Massive overkill? Absolutely! Does it sound great? Definitely.
