Here's hoping this album is as good as the others, in particular, their very first one.

Must've recorded at least one track with _____ _____'s vocals before he committed ____________.

Like Foreigner w/o Lou Gramm ('cept ______ isn't a complete dick like ___________ is).

My first thought when I read that too. Actually, my first thought was "WTF? How is that possible?"

It's probably been over 20 years, but I remember ___ ______ used to sell a popular headphone amp for guitar. Or at least ___ ______ lended his name to the product. It looked a lot like a cassette walkman.

I remember rocking the house to these guys in high school. So, did you pull that straight from Amazon?

The _____ Rockman! He designed and marketed it to keep a cash flow going when he was taking too long to mix their second album, and their record company suspended payments until he finished. Way to stick it to the Man! :eusa-clap:

Hmmm... Seems I missed their 2002 album completely (and now it's considered a rarity - sometimes fetching a ridiculous price on the auction circuit.)

Maybe I should buy a bunch of the new ones, put 'em away in their wrappers for a dozen years, and then sell 'em off for big bucks. Yeah, that's the strategy. I've got more than a feeling that it will work... Yup I should hitch a ride on this investment opportunity and give myself some peace of mind. Smokin good deal.

I did. For those that didn't want to play my game, here is the unedited version.

The legendary BOSTON return with a brand new studio album after a 10+ year hiatus from releasing new material. Centered around the incredibly gifted guitarist, keyboardist, songwriter, and producer Tom Scholz, 'Life, Love & Hope' is a reflection on how certain traumatic events can impact people s lives. The new songs bring an uplifting message delivered around the classic guitar and vocal harmonies of Boston's classic sound, which are a true trademark of the band. Vocalists on the album include Brad Delp, Kimberley Dahme, David Victor, Tommy DeCarlo and Tom Scholz himself.
Of the album, Tom Scholz said, 'These are all songs from the heart, each of them taking many months of effort to write, arrange, perform and record, always up to the demands of BOSTON's harshest critic, me. They have all been meticulously recorded to analogue tape on the same machines and equipment used for BOSTON's hits for the past 35 years.'

I've wondered why there's not been an extensive box set with some of their stuff. I've heard that Tom Scholz has thrown away a lot of music that would have done well, but just didn't meet his (strict) standards. I'll check it out as I love Boston.

I have a LOT of memories with the first album. I remember being a kid in 3rd grade and my mom picking me up from school with the S/T album on 8 track playing in the car stereo.

I cut off your Pun-terpiece to tell of the one time I've done this. I bought Dream Theater's Live Scenes from New York on the day it was released, after work. I looked at the cover and got a bit of a shiver:

On a hunch I didn't play it when I got home, I left it in its original cellophane wrapper. Sure enough, the next morning all copies were pulled, nationwide.
It was released on September 11, 2001.

I never bought the set with the new cover, as it then came out on video too, bought that instead. And my original purchase is still in the wrapper... :twocents-mytwocents:

Crazy Ol' Max does not approve! :teasing-tease:

(I'm not really sure how this video pertains to this topic, but it does contain the word digital; and, well, I just couldn't resist.)

Thanks to the song samples that were recently put up on Amazon, I've canceled my pre-order of this album.

I think a few of the songs are quite good but they sound exactly like previously released songs of theirs. I'm not talking the signature Boston sound but rather it seems like they ripped off their own music and melodies from previous work and just added new lyrics. The other songs I think are just plain bad. :handgestures-thumbdown:

If anyone else got excited and jumped the gun like I did preordering this, you may want to check the samples now.

I think I'm going to pass as well. The first 5 sound decent, but I'm not wowed at all. The last half with the different singers does nothing for me.

I almost bought it on my last order a couple of weeks ago, but went with the new Rush live album instead.

You al know that the best Boston cover band in the world is, umm..., y'know... Boston.

Right?
